Kenny Slaught On The Expansion Of Investments In Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is not only a popular spot for tourists, but also a good place to start a business, says Kenny Slaught. Many new firms like AppScale, LastLine, TrackR, and Salty Girl Seafood, were started by University of California Santa Barbara graduates. The Central Coast gathered twice the investment per capita in development compared to the bigger market in the greater LA region. Startups created here raised more than $200 million from private funders in the last year. Local entrepreneurs recognize the effects of starting a business in a growing environment, although  Silicon Valley or Hollywood have their appeal. So, many companies in fields like biotech, medical, technology, and science were developed here. Some of them are Inogen, BioIQ, Raytheon and Sonos.
