Kenny Slaught explains that Hoover Dam was built during the Great Depression era, from 1931 and 1936, for a price of $49 million. It was named Boulder Dam at first, but after a while, its name was switched to Hoover Dam as a tribute to President Herbert Hoover, who was one of its founders. The project is 221 meters tall, 379 meters long, and has a capacity of 35.000 cubic kilometers. It also gives out over 4.2 billion kWh2 in a year.
